The Eyes on Malaria magazine is a 32-page publication by the African Media and Malaria Research Network (AMMREN). It will be published quarterly, in full colour, glossy paper with occasional special editions. There is also an electronic version, which you can download from here as a pdf, and will also shortly be available from the magazines own website.
Eyes on Malaria stories are captured in the following formats:
- Breaking news, local and international
- News analysis
- News features
- Commentary
- Traditional features
- Profiles
- Question and Answer Interviews
The magazine is an attempt to find an innovative way of taking information about the miraculous breakthroughs of modern science from the laboratory to those who most need it. It will draw on the strength of its membership, comprising scientists and journalists, to deliver a product that is scientifically sound without being overwhelmingly technical.
It focuses on reporting malaria research findings from AMMREN's network of nine Africa malaria endemic countries (Ghana, Gabon, Senegal, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Tanzania and The Gambia) on an ongoing basis. Within this network, the magazine is distributed widely within each country to serve as a regular source of information on malaria in Africa.
